More bends in store. Link to Sun story.London | Director Gurinder Chadha has told the Sun newspaper of plans for a follow-up to Bend It Like Beckham. Both Keira Knightley and Parminder Nagra would reprise their roles as ambitious young footballers en route to collegiate careers at Santa Clara (Calif.) University. “I see it more as a continuation of the characters than an actual sequel,” Chadha says. “The first film was based on me when I was growing up, whereas this next one is going to be about my life afterwards.”

Picking up where the previous film left off, we would expect Jess and Jules, having cleared Heathrow security, to be handed salty peanut snacks for subsistence on the 11-hour flight (not counting connections).
